Paris’te doğan Lacoste, Fransa’ya Davis Kupası’nı kazandıran “Mousquetaire” adlı ekibin en başarılı oyuncusu oldu.
1925, 1927 ve 1929’da Roland Garros, 1926 ve 1927’de Forest Hills (ABD), 1925 ve 1938’de Wimbledon’da şampiyonluğu kazandı.
1996 yılında öldü.
